Leon Dolice (1892-1960) Cityscape Etching Framed - Item/Description: Signed New York cityscape etching of the Metlife Clock Tower Building (Metropolitan Life Insurance Company Tower Bridge) by renowned Viennese artist, Leon Dolice (1892-1960). Growing up as the son of a machinist, Dolice was exposed to welding and metal crafts. So promising was his talent, he was considered to become ”one of the greatest etchers of all time.” New York cityscapes were Dolice's favored subjects and this etching depicts the iconic Metlife Clock Tower and bridge from the vantage point of a park. Artist signed lower right: Dolice. Matted. Simple painted wood frame. Hanging hardware. Material: Paper, Ink, Wood Dimensions: Image size: Height: 10 1/2”; Width: 6 3/4”.
