Both frame and painting are signed by the artist, Marianne Hornbuckle. Signed lower left to painting and to back of frame (etched). Nichas (Feminine of nichos, a shrine designed to hold objects of reverence) designed and constructed by the artist. Loosely based on a famous painting of the nude, the painting and its 'frame' offer many levels of interpretation: a twist on the traditional male-oriented approach to the unclothed female form. After Correggio's 'Jupiter and Antiope', Depicts Antiope in her innocent sensuality, dreaming of Jupiter. Glass candles holders on each side.
