Giovanni Petucco, Glazed Ceramic Wall Plaque - Item/Description: Mid-Century ceramic tile plaque painting in glaze, features modernist horse and male figure. Signature across bottom. Giovanni Petucco (Italian, 1910 - 1961). Surrealist painting of a young man with white horse. Gallery stamp from Italy en verso. Recessed wood frame is painted with plaster / composite that mimics stone. Petucco & Tolio was founded in 1945 by the partners Giovanni Petucco (1910-1961), Andrea Tolio, and Gino Cuman in Nove, Italy, in the province of Vicenza, with headquarters via Molini 44. Under Giovanni Petucco's direction, the production program consisted predominantly of vases, ornaments, and bases for lamps.
