Large Ceramic Two Handled Festooned Amphora Urn - A large ceramic amphora-style decorative urn featuring a classic flared rim and a tapering body supported by a short, circular pedestal base. The vessel is flanked by two vertical loop handles that terminate in decorative scrolls at the top. The earthenware body is finished in a uniform light tan or cream glaze characterized by extensive all-over crazing as an intentional decorative feature. The urn is embellished with high-relief molded ornamentation including a thick, twisted-rope garland draped around the shoulder and center, accented by star-shaped or floral medallions at the center and handle terminals. A circular floral sunburst medallion is centered on the belly beneath the draped garland. The underside of the base is unglazed and shows a darkened, stained surface with two small circular black felt protectors attached. There are no visible maker marks, signatures, or factory stamps on the exterior or base of the piece.Height: 15 1/4 inchesWidth: 11 1/2 inches.
