Large Rococo Revival Gilt Framed Wall Mirror - A large wall mirror featuring a carved frame with a gold gilt finish in the Rococo Revival style. The frame is designed with elaborate C-scrolls, acanthus leaf motifs, and an openwork cresting pediment. This pediment is topped with a flared shell or palmette finial. The silhouette is characterized by serpentine curves and scrolling shoulders. The reverse of the frame shows various handwritten markings. On the back of the top cresting, there are characters in dark ink reading 1 30 followed by an illegible symbol (photo 9). A single mark resembling the number 5 is located on the reverse left shoulder (photo 8). The upper left reverse frame features a printed mark reading MADE IN followed by illegible text, with a large hand-drawn letter G below it (photo 7). The back is finished with modern white paper secured with staples, bearing contemporary handwritten inventory notations reading BOJPP G D-214 (photo 7).Height: 48 inchesWidth: 27 inches.
