The armchair features a four-slat ladder back topped by turned ball finials. The shaped arms are supported by turned spindles, and the frame is stabilized by a series of turned stretchers. Both the chair and ottoman are fitted with hand-woven natural rush seats in a four-triangle envelope pattern. The set is accompanied by a three-piece set of removable, red jacquard fabric cushions featuring a woven floral and scrollwork pattern. The cushions are designed to be secured to the frame with integrated fabric ties. The wooden frame is finished with a black paint that has been treated with a heavy decorative crackle or alligatoring effect to simulate age.
