Bidspirit auction | Classical Style Cast Female Head

Classical Style Cast Female Head Sculpture on Plinth - A sculpture of a female head in the classical Greco-Roman style. The piece features a stylized face with simplified features, blank eyes, and wavy hair swept back from the forehead. The head is flat and unfinished on the reverse, suggesting it was cast from a mold originally intended for a relief or plaque, and has been mounted onto a vertical metal support rod. The head is finished with a bronze-effect patina showing faux aging, including patches of blue-green oxidation-style discoloration. The sculpture is mounted on a separate, square dark-toned plinth. The interior material visible through surface losses is white, consistent with cast plaster or resin rather than solid metal. No maker marks, signatures, or foundry stamps are visible on the head or the base.Width: 3 inchesDepth: 3 inchesHeight: 8 1/2 inches.
