William and Mary Style Oystershell Veneered Bachelor Chest of Drawers - FOR PICK UP OR TRANSPORT ONLY, WILL NOT SHIP A small-scale chest of drawers in the William and Mary style, featuring a rectangular top with an elaborate parquetry design of four heart-shaped patterns and a central four-lobed floral motif. The chest is constructed with two short drawers over three long graduated drawers. The drawer fronts are decorated with oystershell laburnum or walnut veneers arranged in geometric circular patterns, bordered by cross-banded veneers. The case features molded edges between each drawer tier and a thumb-molded top edge. The piece is fitted with brass teardrop drawer pulls mounted on floral-shaped backplates. The sides of the chest are finished in a contrasting smooth hardwood veneer. The drawers are joined with machine-cut dovetails, visible at the side of the upper right drawer. The back of the unit is a modern plywood panel secured with flat-head screws. A metal stabilization plate is affixed to the upper center of the back panel.
