Century Furniture British National Trust Collection Double Domed Secretary Desk - FOR PICK UP OR TRANSPORT ONLY, WILL NOT SHIP A two-part double domed secretary desk from the British National Trust Collection by Century Furniture. The upper section features a double-arched cornice above two doors inset with shaped, scalloped mirrors. These doors open to an interior fitted with arched pigeonholes, vertical document dividers, and a central cupboard with curved doors flanked by four small drawers. Below the mirrors are two pull-out candle slides. The lower bureau section features a slant-front desk that opens to reveal a stepped interior containing six pigeonholes, four small drawers, and a central well. The base consists of two short drawers over two long drawers, all supported by bracket feet. The exterior is finished in book-matched burl wood veneers with crossbanded borders and herringbone string inlay. Construction features include oak secondary wood and dovetail joinery visible on the drawer sides. The drawer interiors are fitted with two brass-toned metal plaques. The first is a shield-shaped plaque reading CENTURY over a shield containing THE BRITISH NATIONAL TRUST COLLECTION with an oak leaf crest. The second is a rectangular plaque reading British National Trust / DOUBLE DOMED SECRETARY / 101-38. The hardware includes brass batwing-style drawer pulls and escutcheons.
