American Drew Mahogany Block Front Shell Carved Bachelors Chest - FOR PICK UP OR TRANSPORT ONLY, WILL NOT SHIP A vintage American mahogany bachelors chest of drawers manufactured in the Colonial Revival style, specifically inspired by 18th-century Newport, Rhode Island, cabinetry. The chest features a distinctive block-front profile with a central concave section flanked by two convex sections. The upper tier consists of a single drawer front designed to appear as three separate drawers, each featuring a hand-carved shell motif; the central shell is concave, while the two outer shells are convex. Below this tier are three full-width drawers that follow the undulating block-front contour of the case. The chest is constructed with mahogany veneers and solid wood components, supported by four bracket feet. The drawers are assembled using machine-cut dovetail joinery. Hardware includes ornate brass batwing-style drawer pulls and escutcheons on the lower drawers, with two brass drop ring pulls mounted on the outer shell carvings. The interior of one drawer features a branded mark consisting of a stylized tree silhouette above the text AMERICAN DREW.
