Standard Oil Co. Industrial Oil Drum with Dispensing Tap Shelbyville KY - A vintage steel industrial oil barrel produced for the Standard Oil Company. The drum features a cylindrical body with raised rolling hoops and a horizontally oriented dispensing configuration. The end of the barrel displays several stenciled markings in blue-black paint over a weathered white background. A vertical inscription on the right side reads STANDARD OIL CO. SHELBYVILLE, KY. Centered in larger, inverted characters is the product identification SOLUBLE SAE 30. Above this, a numerical code reads 3-31-59-55. The drum is equipped with a cast metal dispensing faucet featuring a thumb-action lever and a threaded outlet, mounted near the bottom rim of the head.
