Large Handmade Dresden Plate Pattern Patchwork and Applique Cotton Quilt - A large handmade patchwork and applique quilt featuring the traditional Dresden Plate pattern. The quilt top is constructed from cotton and cotton-blend fabrics, displaying six large floral motifs arranged in two columns of three. Each Dresden Plate motif consists of sixteen pointed petals rendered in an assortment of vintage-style printed calico, floral, and striped fabrics in a palette of blue, purple, yellow, and cream. The central circles of the plates and the expansive background field are fashioned from a red-on-white floral sprig calico, which creates a dominant pink appearance. The quilt is finished with an all-over machine-quilted stippling pattern. The reverse side is a solid light-colored fabric, and the edges are finished with a narrow, light-toned binding.
