American Uranium Glass Princess Pattern Sugar Shaker - This is a piece of American pressed uranium glass, a variety of glass containing a small amount of uranium dioxide which causes it to fluoresce a bright neon green under ultraviolet light. The transparent light green glass is formed into a tall, tapered hexagonal pedestal shape with a flared base and a threaded neck. The body features a molded Princess pattern consisting of stylized floral medallions, reminiscent of tulips or irises, flanked by vertical foliate borders on each of the six corners. The underside of the base is smooth and molded with an embossed numeral 2 located near the edge. The shaker is fitted with a screw-on perforated metal cap.Height: 6 1/2 inchesBase Width: 2 1/4 inches.
