Mid-20th Century Hand-Assembled Cotton Patchwork Crazy Quilt - A large vintage American folk art crazy quilt featuring an irregular patchwork of various mid-20th-century textiles. The quilt is hand-assembled using a wide variety of materials including cotton prints, calicos, ginghams, stripes, solids, and novelty fabrics, notably a print featuring birds and floral motifs. The patches are joined with decorative hand-stitching, primarily in herringbone and feather stitch patterns using contrasting colored threads. The construction is a tied quilt, with multiple loose thread ends visible across the surface designed to secure the batting and backing layers rather than traditional quilted top-stitching. The quilt is finished with a light-colored solid fabric binding around all four edges. The reverse side consists of a solid light-toned cotton fabric.Length: 81 inchesWidth: 70 inches.
