The piece is hand-assembled and features a variation of the traditional Nine-Patch pattern, where three-by-three grids of multicolored fabric squares alternate with solid orange squares in a checkerboard arrangement. The scrap fabrics include a diverse range of materials, including printed cottons and synthetic blends featuring plaids, ginghams, checks, stripes, and floral motifs in shades of blue, green, pink, red, and brown. The quilt is machine-quilted in a simple grid or channel pattern of horizontal and vertical lines.
