The body of the jar is ornamented with deeply carved floral motifs, where the raised petals and leaves exhibit a natural light honey-toned wood grain, contrasted against a dark chocolate brown stained background. The vessel is topped with a conical lid that continues the carved petal design, culminating in a multi-tiered turned finial. The base of the piece reveals concentric circular tooling marks, indicating it was initially shaped on a lathe before the relief carving was applied.
