Narco West German Ceramic Mantel Clock - A West German mechanical mantel clock featuring a Rococo-revival style ceramic case. The exterior of the pottery case is finished in a deep purple glaze with mottled blue accents, decorated with relief-molded scrollwork, acanthus leaves, and a central scene of two cherubs. The reverse of the case is finished in matte white. The circular white dial features a central decorative green and gold foliate motif and is marked Narco above the center and WEST-GERMANY at the bottom edge. It is configured with Roman numeral hour markers and an outer track with Arabic numerals at five-minute intervals. The hands are gold-toned filigree. The mechanical movement is housed in a brass-toned metal casing stamped Made in Germany and includes a winding arbor, a time-setting arbor, and a regulator lever marked with + and - symbols. The reverse of the ceramic case bears a hand-incised signature in script reading Vivian and the date 3-25-75.Width: 8.75 inches at the baseHeight: 11.25 inches.
