A Collection of Vintage Sewing Buttons and Notions in a Tom's Toasted Peanuts Glass Jar - This lot features a large collection of loose vintage sewing buttons and notions housed in a cylindrical clear glass advertising jar. The jar features a stepped, domed lid with a circular glass knob. The front of the jar is decorated with a black printed graphic that includes the cursive script Eat, followed by the capitalized text TOM'S TOASTED PEANUTS. To the right of the text is a printed 5c mark. The jar is filled with a high volume of buttons in an extensive variety of sizes, styles, and materials, including plastic, shell, metal, wood, and potentially early synthetics. The assortment includes two-hole, four-hole, and shank-style buttons in a broad color palette featuring white, cream, black, brown, red, blue, green, and pink. Interspersed among the loose buttons are several notions on their original commercial packaging. A blue backing card is printed with Newey's RUST PROOF Snap Fasteners S.F.1. and holds several black metal snaps.
