A Pair of Moonstone Pattern Opalescent Glass Plates - A pair of pressed glass plates featuring a clear center and a milky white opalescent rim. The design consists of a ruffled or scalloped edge and a hobnail-style pattern of concentric rings of raised circular studs. The center of each plate is decorated with a radial sunburst pattern composed of embossed lines. This combination of hobnail texture and opalescent treatment is characteristic of the Moonstone pattern. The plates are constructed of translucent glass that transitions to an opaque white at the perimeter, an effect achieved through heat treatment of the glass during production.
