Bidspirit auction | Vintage Amberina Glass Ruffled Thumbprint

Vintage Amberina Glass Ruffled Thumbprint Pedestal Compote - A vintage American pressed glass pedestal compote featuring a bicolor Amberina effect. The glass transitions from a deep ruby red at the rim to an orange-amber tone through the bowl, stem, and foot, achieved through heat-sensitive glass formulation. The bowl exterior is decorated with a pressed thumbprint pattern, also known as a hobnail variant, consisting of uniform circular indentations that create a textured exterior and a corresponding pattern visible through the smooth interior. The rim is finished with a wide, hand-crimped ruffled edge. The bowl is supported by a hexagonal molded pedestal stem ending in a flat, circular foot. The base is smooth and molded without a pontil mark, consistent with twentieth-century pressed glass production. There are no maker marks or labels visible on the piece.Height: 6 1/2 inchesDiameter: 6 1/4 inches.
