Large Scale Assembled Teak Pegasus Sculpture - NOT AVAILABLE FOR SHIPPING, PICK UP OR TRANSPORT ONLY - A large scale decorative sculpture of the mythological winged horse Pegasus. The piece is constructed from numerous interlocking segments of natural teak root and carved wood. The horse's head is stylized with a smooth finished face and inset dark pupils in the eyes, while the mane and chest area are composed of rugged, textured wooden protrusions. The body is formed from rounded wooden blocks joined together. Two large, outspread wings are mounted to the shoulders, each built from overlapping, feather-shaped wooden planks of varying lengths. The sculpture stands on two finished wooden legs that are integrated into a thick, rectangular wooden plinth base. The construction shows visible joinery including gaps between segments and the heads of fasteners used to secure the components. No maker's marks or signatures are visible on the sculpture or the base.
