Norinco Type 56 SKS Semi-Automatic Rifle with Folding Stock and Magazines - A Chinese semi-automatic rifle, a Norinco manufactured Type 56 SKS variant chambered in 7.62x39mm. The firearm is constructed with a blued steel barrel and receiver, currently housed in a black synthetic aftermarket stock featuring a folding buttstock and a textured pistol grip. The original fixed magazine has been removed in favor of a detachable curved metal box magazine. The receiver shows several markings: the left side bears an impressed triangle containing the number 26, followed by the Chinese characters ???, and the serial number 141099 94. The right side of the receiver is stamped SKS 7.62X39MM JPE POMONA CA MADE IN CHINA BY NORINCO. The synthetic stock features a molded mark on the right side reading PATENT PEND. The rifle is equipped with a hooded front post sight and a tangent rear sight graduated to 1000 meters. The bayonet lug is present under the barrel, though the bayonet itself has been removed. The rifle is fitted with a green canvas sling secured by leather tabs. Accompanying the firearm are two additional detachable magazines and a printed instruction manual titled SKS 7.62X39MM RIFLES INSTRUCTION MANUAL FOR SHOOTING & MAINTENANCE. A tan paper hang tag is attached to the trigger guard with handwritten notes Norinco S.K.S., cal. 7.62x39, and SN: 141099 94. Overall length is approximately 44 inches with the stock extended.
