The firearm features a smooth wood stock with a black rubber buttpad and a blued steel finish on the receiver and barrel. It is equipped with a black polymer ventilated handguard. A Cabela's 3-12x40 .223 caliber-specific telescopic sight is mounted to the integral receiver scallops using Ruger-style rings. The rifle retains its factory iron sights, including a protected blade front sight and an adjustable aperture rear sight. The left side of the receiver is stamped with the Ruger logo and a multi-line inscription reading: BEFORE USING GUN-READ WARNINGS IN INSTRUCTION MANUAL AVAILABLE FREE FROM STURM, RUGER & CO., INC.
