Large Tanned North American Beaver Pelt Rug with Felt Backing - This lot features a tanned North American beaver (Castor canadensis) pelt rug. The pelt is mounted onto a black felt backing that has been cut to follow the natural silhouette of the animal. The fur is thick and lustrous, exhibiting a rich mahogany brown color with lighter golden-brown highlights along the sides. The rug includes the head area, which retains visible ears and whiskers. Attached at the posterior is a characteristic flat, oval-shaped tail with a leathery, scaly texture. The black felt backing extends beyond the edges of the fur to provide a decorative border.
