A Trio of Vintage Hand Saws Including Disston and Belknap Blue Grass Examples - A collection of three vintage hand saws consisting of two crosscut saws and one back saw. The first crosscut saw features a carved wooden handle secured with three brass medallions. One medallion is impressed with a circular mark reading WARRANTED SUPERIOR around a central five-pointed star. The second crosscut saw is constructed with a dark, ornate wooden handle secured by four brass medallions. One medallion is an impressed brass disc reading H. DISSTON & SONS PHILADA around a central keystone device containing the characters D and S. A third saw features a wooden handle with a brass medallion impressed with an oval border reading BELKNAP above BLUE GRASS and LOUISVILLE below. The back saw is distinguished by a heavy steel stiffening rib running along the top edge of the blade. The blades are made of steel and exhibit traditional tapering forms for the crosscut saws and a rectangular profile for the back saw. One handle features carved wheat-ear decorative motifs on the grip. The total length of the Disston saw, measured from the tip of the handle to the toe of the blade, is approximately 32 inches. Across the widest point of the Disston saw handle, the width is approximately 7.5 inches.
