Three Belknap Hardware and Manufacturing Co Butcher Meat Saws - A trio of vintage butcher saws manufactured by the Belknap Hardware and Manufacturing Company of Louisville, Kentucky. Each tool is constructed with an arched heavy-gauge flat steel spine and a traditional open-grip wooden handle secured by three split-nut bolts. One saw features a stamped mark on the spine containing a circular logo with a dog head profile and the words PINE KNOT, surrounded by the text BELKNAP LOUISVILLE KY and HDW & MFG CO. A second saw spine bears an impressed mark with the words BLUE GRASS within an oval logo, flanked by the text BELKNAP LOUISVILLE KY and HDW & MFG CO. The third saw spine bears a similar impressed mark reading BELKNAP LOUISVILLE KY and HDW & MFG CO, though the central logo and surrounding text are partially obscured by surface oxidation. The saws are equipped with detachable steel blades featuring forward-leaning teeth, held in place by a tensioning hook and pin mechanism at the handle and toe. Based on a tape measure positioned along the spine of the saws, the overall length from the toe of the frame to the end of the wooden handle is approximately 32 inches.
