An Assortment of Vintage Belknap Blue Grass Butcher and Keyhole Saws - A collection of vintage hand saws consisting of two butcher or meat saws and two keyhole/compass saws. The two larger saws feature adjustable metal frames and wooden D-grip handles. One frame is stamped with an incised mark reading BELKNAP over LOUISVILLE HDW. and a circular logo featuring a horse (photo 6). The two smaller saws are designed with wooden pistol-grip handles and tapered steel blades. One of these handles is fitted with a circular metal medallion that features an oval containing the word BLUE GRASS, surrounded by the words BELKNAP and LOUISVILLE (photo 3). The second keyhole saw handle is secured with two slotted brass screw fasteners (photo 1). All tools are constructed from steel blades and frames with carved wooden handles. Total length of the largest saw frame is approximately 20 to 21 inches (photo 8).
