Vintage Belknap Blue Grass Portable Electric Sewing Machine and Accessories - A vintage portable electric sewing machine finished in black enamel with gold-tone Art Nouveau-style tulip and vine decals. The machine features a cast iron body and a rear-mounted motor. A central decal on the base plate consists of a multi-colored transfer label with a red cross-shaped background and a yellow banner. The text on this label reads TRADE MARK at the left and right, and center text reading Belknap HARDWARE & MFG. CO. EXTRA QUALITY BLUE-GRASS LOUISVILLE, U.S.A. KNAP TRADE MARK. The rear-mounted motor includes a circular metal plate with a black and silver finish, reading 110-V A.C. OR D.C. MODEL B. The machine is equipped with a chrome-plated handwheel and a side-mounted bobbin winder. Included with the machine is a black metal foot pedal and a paper instructional booklet. The booklet is titled DIRECTIONS FOR USING Steel Attachments and features a central rose illustration. Printed text at the top left of the booklet reads 10M-3.'28 Irwin, suggesting a printing date of March 1928. The machine is missing its wooden base or carrying case and is presented as a standalone mechanical head with its electrical components.
