Wright and Bridgeford Louisville Cast Iron Waffle Iron with Ring Base - This antique three-piece waffle iron assembly is constructed from cast iron and features two circular paddles and a corresponding low-profile ring base. The exterior of the upper paddle is cast with a circular arrangement of raised lettering that reads WRIGHT & BRIDGEFORD at the top and LOUISVILLE at the bottom, separated by small dots. The center of this paddle is impressed with the numerals 6 7. The paddles are joined by a pin hinge and feature a long handle with a tapered oval hanging aperture. Three rectangular lugs are integrated into the perimeter of the iron to facilitate alignment and rotation within the ring base. The base itself is a simple cast iron collar designed to sit over a stove eye. The interior waffle grid pattern is not visible in the provided images. Based on the provided scale, the ring base measures approximately 7 1/2 inches in diameter (photo 7). The total length of the iron from the edge of the paddle to the end of the handle is approximately 12 1/2 inches (photo 8).
