Antique M and H Armitage Mouse Hole Blacksmith Anvil - NOT AVAILABLE FOR SHIPPING, PICK UP OR TRANSPORT ONLY - A forged steel blacksmith anvil of English pattern, characterized by a square heel, a pritchel hole, and a square hardy hole on the face. The body features a tapering conical horn and a waist with a handling hole on one side. The side of the anvil bears impressed markings in a stacked format. The top line contains the characters M and H ARMITAGE, though the first letters are heavily worn. Below this, the words MOUSE HOLE are clearly readable. A weight stamping in the traditional English hundredweight system is impressed lower on the body, reading 0 - 3 - 16. These figures represent 0 hundredweight (112 lbs), 3 quarters (84 lbs), and 16 pounds, totaling a manufactured weight of 100 lbs. The base is formed with four flared feet.
