A Collection of Four Norman Rockwell Inspired Porcelain Figurines by Gorham and The Norman Rockwell Museum - This group of four hand-painted, matte-finish porcelain figurines is based on the illustrations of Norman Rockwell. The collection includes varied scenes depicting mid-century American life. The first figurine, titled No Swimming, depicts a young girl in a red and orange polka-dot dress and blue bonnet walking past a sign. The signpost features a hanging coat and hat, with a small dog and a pair of boots at the base. It is marked as being from the Gift World of Gorham and carries a 1974 copyright. The second figurine, Happy Birthday, Dear Mother, is from The American Family series and portrays a family procession in nightclothes, including a boy with a sign and a man in a red robe. It is dated 1979 and authenticated by The Norman Rockwell Museum. The third figurine, Dreams In The Antique Shop, dated 1982, shows a woman in a green dress seated on a trunk in a shop filled with miniature antique replicas and a small cat. The fourth figurine, The First Haircut, also from The American Family series and dated 1979, shows a boy in a barber chair flanked by a barber and a man offering a lollipop. Each piece features an impressed Norman Rockwell signature on the top of the base and detailed backstamps on the underside. Several pieces retain their original Made in Japan labels.
