Norman Rockwell Limited Edition Bisque Porcelain Figurine The First Car In Town - A limited edition Norman Rockwell Museum porcelain figurine titled The First Car In Town, produced in 1985. The piece is handcrafted from fine bisque porcelain and features individual hand-painted details. The scene depicts a humorous historical moment with a man in early 20th-century attire driving an open-top automobile through a cobblestone street. Figures include a woman standing beside the car with her hands over her ears, two children reacting with excitement, and two dogs running alongside the vehicle. The porcelain base is designed to resemble a paved sidewalk and street, which is mounted on a finished wooden plinth. The top of the porcelain base is incised with the Norman Rockwell signature. The underside of the figurine is printed with the Norman Rockwell Museum seal of authenticity and text identifying it as a Special Edition Museum Piece, figurine number 255 of 2,500. A blue oval foil sticker on the bottom reads MADE IN JAPAN. The item is accompanied by a matching Certificate of Authenticity hand-numbered 255 and signed by curator Marshall L. Stoltz.
