Victorian Silver Plated Rococo Revival Inkstand with Twin Cut Glass Inkwells - A late 19th-century Rococo Revival style silver-plated desk inkstand, also known as a standish. The set consists of an elaborately cast metal tray featuring scroll and foliate motifs with an integrated pen well. The tray is supported by four scrolled paw-and-ball feet and features two integrated handles with scrolled terminals. The standish includes two heavy clear cut glass inkwells with a diamond-faceted pattern. One inkwell is fitted with a silver-plated collar and a hinged, dome-shaped lid decorated with vertical fluting. The second inkwell has a matching collar but is missing its hinged lid. A central taper stick holder is positioned between the inkwells, designed with a fluted pedestal and a petal-form drip pan. Significant wear to the silver plating reveals a yellowish base metal, likely brass or a copper alloy, on the high points and edges of the casting. Indistinct and worn marks are present on the metal collar of one inkwell but are not legible. Width: 12.5 inches Depth: 7.5 inches Height: 6 inches.
