Oscar Schlegelmilch IPF Germany Cobalt Blue and Gilded Porcelain Rose Bowl - A large circular porcelain bowl manufactured by the Oscar Schlegelmilch factory in Neinstedt, Germany, featuring the International Porcelain Factory (IPF) mark used for the export market. The vessel is constructed of translucent fine porcelain with deep swirled molding and a scalloped, lobed rim containing four integrated openwork pierced handles. The interior well is decorated with a central polychrome floral arrangement of pink and yellow roses, complemented by scattered smaller rose sprays. This decoration consists of a transfer process with hand-painted enamel highlights. The broad rim is finished in a deep cobalt blue glaze and accented with heavy gilded floral and foliate motifs applied in gold paste. The base of the bowl displays a black printed mark with the letters IPF inside a double-diamond graphic above the word Germany. A script number 8 is also present above the manufacturer mark.
