Large Hand Painted Porcelain Footed Centerpiece Bowl with Violets - This is a large, oval-shaped porcelain centerpiece bowl or low jardiniere featuring hand-painted floral decoration. The exterior and interior are decorated with clusters of purple violets with yellow centers and green leaves against a pale greenish-yellow ground. The vessel is characterized by a heavily ruffled and scalloped rim highlighted with gold gilding. It stands on four integral, scrolling feet finished with washes of purple and deep teal-green glaze and accented with gold highlights. A faint, illegible grey-green manufacturer mark is present on the underside of the base. Small circular firing vent holes are visible on the interior of the hollow-cast feet.
