Norco Foundry and Specialty Company Advertising Pig Bank - This two-part still bank is in the form of a standing pig and was manufactured by the Norco Foundry and Specialty Company of Pottstown, Pennsylvania. The bank is constructed of cast iron with a pebbled surface texture characteristic of sand casting. A coin slot is located along the dorsal ridge of the pig. The two halves are secured by a single flat-head steel screw located on the side of the body. One side of the pig features embossed text reading BUY AT NORCO AND SAVE. The opposite side features embossed text identifying the manufacturer as NORCO FOUNDRY SPECIALTY CO POTTSTOWN PA. The bank is finished in a light tan or cream-colored paint with black accents on the hooves and eyes and a trace of red paint at the mouth.
