13'11” x 9'8” Sultanabad-Style Carpet - Date: Probably late 20th or early 21st century Period/Style: Sultanabad/Mahal-inspired allover floral Materials: Wool pile, woven textile foundation Form: Rectangular room-size carpet Description: Sultanabad-style wool-pile carpet, probably late 20th or early 21st century, with an allover design of oversized palmettes, rosettes and curling leafy vines on a black ground. Gold, tan, sage green and muted rust motifs are arranged in a balanced repeat without a dominant central medallion. A broad golden border continues the floral ornament, enclosed by narrower scrolling guards and a dark outer edge. Light fringe extends from the ends of the patterned woven foundation.
