Pair Parcel-Gilt Shield-Back Bar Stools - Date: Late 20th or early 21st century Period/Style: Neoclassical / Hepplewhite style Materials: Mahogany-finished carved wood, gilt decoration, brown leather upholstery and brass footrail plates Form: Pair of bar-height armstools Description: Pair of Neoclassical-style bar-height armstools, late 20th or early 21st century, with mahogany-finished frames and parcel-gilt carved decoration. Shield-shaped open backs incorporate a feathered central crest, urn-form splat and draped swags, above scrolled arms and brown leather-upholstered bowed seats. Square tapered front legs have gilt blocks and capped feet; the rear legs splay outward. Shaped stretchers join the legs, with ribbed brass plates along the front footrails. Dimensions: 48 in. H, 32 in. W, 18 in. D, each; seat height 31 in.
