Art Deco Alabaster Figural Fountain Lamp - Origin: Probably Italy Date: First quarter 20th century Period/Style: Art Deco Materials: Carved alabaster, veined stone, glass, and electrical fittings Form: Figural fountain-form lamp on pedestal Description: A carved figural fountain-form lamp depicting a barefoot young woman with bobbed hair, kneeling among flowers in a loosely draped dress and holding a floral bouquet. The figure rests above a shaped fountain housing with a recessed textured-glass panel illuminated from within. The housing is supported on a columnar pedestal with a molded collar, square top with clipped corners, and stepped circular base over an octagonal plinth. Cream-colored stone contrasts with pronounced dark veining. Disassembles into figure, fountain housing, and pedestal. Dimensions: 47.5 in. H, 14 in. W, 14 in.
