Brass Andirons and Fireplace Tool Set - Origin: Probably American Date: Early 20th century Period/Style: Colonial Revival Maker: Unmarked Materials: Brass and iron Form: Pair of andirons with four-piece tool set and stand Description: Colonial Revival fireplace grouping comprising a pair of brass-mounted iron andirons and a coordinating tool stand. Each andiron has a fluted covered-urn finial above a spherical standard, reeded billet support, foliate scroll brace, and arched iron feet. The upright stand has a turned brass finial and holds a poker, shovel, tongs, and brush with matching baluster-form handles. A handsome and substantially complete hearth ensemble dating to the early twentieth century. Marks: No maker's marks observed. Dimensions: Tool stand 17.5 in. H, approximately 4.5 in. D.
