Wessel, Frankenthal, comprising a fashionable flower seller with a basket of applied blossoms and a gentleman holding a dove. Each wears elaborately patterned eighteenth-century dress heightened with gilt. Modeled in the Rococo taste, the figures stand before tree-form supports on pierced scroll bases with molded foliage and gilt accents. The pair combines delicate floral work, animated poses, and bright postwar German decoration. Marks: Green printed F.W. Wessel Frankenthal factory marks.
