Shemen rokach By Rabbi Elazar Lew Mintz (rokach). Grandson of Rabbi Shaul of Craka and Rabbi Yehoshua Heschel of Krakow, Navi Dvor, 1788, first edition, copy of the Padua family (Katzenelboigen).


The author is a world genius, rabbi of Abai Santov until his death. The Chatam Sofer: "We are dealing with the eulogy of the Gaon, Elazar zt" l, in several famous books, and he was blind for a number of years, and his aroma did not cease with his wonderful knowledge and diligence. '"Shemen rokach" is his first writing in his young years.

In several places - both at the title page and at the end of the book are signatures and inscriptions by the Padua family, among them an owner's inscription attesting that the book belongs to the Ga'on Rabbi Ya'akov Meir Padwa.

The Gaon Rabbi Ya'akov Meir Padua Rabbi of Brisk, was born in 1896 to his father Rabbi Chaim son of the Gaon, author of Minchat Aharon, the righteousness of his Przarno was known in Israel and especially in the city of Brisk. Rabbi Aryeh Leib Katzenelenbogen, Av Beit Din of Brisk said about him: "kdosh hashem".
