BERLIN JEWISH LAWN TENNIS CLUB MEMBERSHIP PIN
Excessively rare membership pin issued to members of the exclusively Jewish "Erster jud. Lawn-Tennis und Wintersport-Club" ("First Jewish Lawn Tennis and Winter Sports Club"), first established in 1899 and located in Berlin's Tiergarten district. The 1 in. diameter pin is enameled brass with a white and sky blue bisected circle emblem surrounded bygold lettering: "LAWN TENNIS CLUB 1899" The reverse bears a period pin back attachment. The pin is accompanied by a unengrossed 8 x 4 in. form issued by the clubs' directors issued to those who were to be allowed free accommodations at the prestigious establishment. Today, no trace of the club remains - the Tiergarten was utterly destroyed during the Russian advance on the Chancellery.
