A magnificent Ashworth Brothers, blue and white transfer beaker vases in the “Cracked Ice and Prunus” Pattern, an 18th century Chinese porcelain design which represents the coming of spring. The elements of the design show cherry blossom petals falling on to the background of thawing ice. Backstamp for about 1880, this fabulous pair of vases are in perfect condition and stand 210 mm tall x 123 mm in diameter across the opening. Ashworth’s took over Mason’s Ironstone in the 1860’s. Victorian English chinoiserie at its very best.
