1880 Embroided Crazy Quilt. Crazy quilts, a fad in the last decades of the nineteenth century in the USA, were most commonly pieced from irregularly shaped bits of velvet and silk. This quilt is an extraordinary one with an explosion of color and patterns. It has children and animal motifs with geometrical patterns. Ca.1880. Size: 67 X 53 in.
