MEDITERRANEAN PIPELINE 1931 - 1934 CIGARETTE CASE
Silver cigarette case commemorating the 1931-34 construction of the Iraqi Petroleum Company's oil pipeline between Kirkuk oil fields in Iraq and Haifa (at the time a Palestinian port). Engraved with a highly detailed pipeline map, the obverse bears a fine engraving of a scene of a boat on an Iraqi river, most likely Tigris in Mosul, with a large mosque in the background. No hallmarks.
Dimensions: 4 1/2 x 3 1/8 in., (11.5 x 8 cm.)
