SOVIET AND RUSSIAN MEDALS FOR STRENGTHENING MILITARY COOPERATION
1) Soviet medal was established in 1979 and awarded to Soviet and allied servicemen for merit in strengthening the combat alliance of the Warsaw Pact (during major exercises). Made of aluminium alloy with red enamel on star. Only 20,000 medals were issued. 2) Russian issued medal was established in 1996 and was awarded by Federal Agency for Government Communication and Information, medal has Moscow Mint mark on reverse.
