Isaac Mayer Dick (1808-1893) was a Russian Hebraist, novelist, and member of the Haskalah. Late in his career he was employed by the Romm printing house to write short weekly stories; he wrote nearly three hundred, and is considered to be a founding father of Yiddish fiction.
