Folding Shabbos knife with engraved illustration of Chassidic? shul, lichvod Shabbos, Karlsbard 1913. Chaim Rapaport. Includes original leather pouch.
Folding Shabbos knife, shaped like penknife for cutting challos of Shabbos Kodesh. Adorned with mother of pearl, divided into two 'plates' on each side.
On one side of the knife Chaim Rapaport is engraved, one word on each plate, Second side of knife reads Lechavod Shabbos Karlsbard, and on the second plate is what looks like a shul engraved into it, perhaps Belza shul.
On the metal between the plates on the side that says Lechavod Shabbos, also the date 1913 is engraved.
Additionally, the "original pouch" of the knife, printed in a-b-c (as opposed to Hebrew) the name of the manufacturer and the company Alpert Epstein Karlsbad solinger stahlwaren.
Very rare to find Shabbos knife from Karlsbad with original pouch in such good condition.
No info found about Chaim Rapaport, nor any Chassidic historical incident in Karlsbad in this year.
