Tel Aviv, 1944. 3 sheets and 9 plates in a hard folder, a Hebrew title page and another title page in foreign language.
In the front of the title page is a dedication by the artist's handwriting and signed by her to Samson Trotsky
The drawings depict the horrors of the Holocaust from the painter's perspective, including a drawing on "Ghetto Uprising", "Underground" and more. Quality drawings.
Includes lament: In the night of Mount Zion, there is lament for Poland and its Jews and the "Warsaw Ghetto".
Artist Lea Grundig March 1906 - October 1977 was a Jewish German communist, she was a drawing and engraving artist who lived and worked most of her years in Germany between the two world wars and in East Germany during the communist period until her death.
Between 1940 and 1949 Grundig spent time in Eretz Yisrael where she painted her landscapes, daily life in Israel and works depicting the Holocaust. The highlight of her work on the Holocaust is a series of drawings called " Bgie HaHariga ". She also published numerous children's books published in the Land of Israel. Her works after returning to eastern Germany in 1949 reflect the suffering of the working class under the burden of the communist regime.
